Abducted: A Lifetime Movie Review
Hey everyone! It is your favorite blogger with the styling stache John Altmann here with my debut post and it is a movie review! I just got done watching a Lifetime Movie under LMN Classics On Demand titled Abducted. Abducted follows distressed wife Melaine Stone as we see she is unhappily married to her husband named Tom who is a prison warden with political aspirations. (We see in the movie he is running for Mayor.) Melaine's happiness is second priority to Tom as we see he will often manipulate and control her if it means he achieves his political ends. He even asks her not to attend her friend's wedding because he says it will "look bad for the campaign." I mean my oh my someone is a mega douche! Melaine glumly follows because she loves her husband and believes that his happiness is their happiness. Oh sweetie can you hear your own mindset all the way in the 50's?! For God sake empower yourself! (Sorry mini tangent.) Anyhow we see later on that Melaine has some run ins with a convict named Jack Carlson who was convicted of murder of his wife and his friend. He is in his second year of a sixteen year sentence and Tom has given him a job on his and Melaine's farm as a mechanic This came after Jack beat down a couple inmates (in self defense) early on in the film. We immediately see that Jack is a man of an amicable standing and a most warm nature as he seems to take somewhat of a liking to Melaine (don't cue those 80's ethnic kiss sound effects yet folks.) and she seems to show an inkling of attraction to him back. Of course being the cookie cutter political wife she suppresses it. Later we see the tension mounting between Tom and Melaine as Melaine suspects that Tom is having an affair with his campaign manager which he goes on to vehemently denies. (it is later proven true therefore I credit this film for portraying politicians accurately.) Tom would later go on to tell Jack that with this assault charge looming and the previous murder charge he could be looking at a life sentence. He then taunts Jack about life beyond prison walls. Jack feeling desperation closing in responds by taking Melaine hostage! This is where I am gonna cut off (You'll see that a lot in most of my book and movie reviews for future notice.) Overall I loved this movie. The plot was original (something big budget Hollywood fails to do these days.) The roles of the cast were phenomenally acted to a T (especially in my humble opinion the man playing Tom he just really captured the essence of political sleaze.) and it was just a very nicely structured movie and one I honestly would have paid full price to see on the silver screen. My final score ***** stars baby! Hope you guys will have the pleasure of watching this like I did (Again it's On Demand under Free Movies then Lifetime Movie.net then LMN Classics.) Thanks for reading and keep an eye out in the coming days as I blog about my graduation ceremony, party and my parting for my Virginia vacation with my sister and her boyfriend! (I hope a lot of blogging material comes out of that vacation!) Until next time this is Styling John Altmann saying Stay safe sexy and sharp baby!
